Graphite and Old White

Isn't this the cutest little cabinet? Not sure what it was used for back in the day but it has great lines and carved appliques and a great price tag. It also had warped drawers that needed replacing, a missing beautiful handle and pulling veneer. Hence the price.

I scrubbed it w/ TSP and painted it in Graphite and Old White. The lower drawer holes were patched up w/ Quik Wood and a new center hole drilled. The carvings on the sides were dry brushed in Old White and the original top drawer pulls got a silver gilding wax treatment. I made this by mixing AS clear wax and Martha Stewart's silver gilding paint. I'm cheap but we already established that.

I have to tell you, I really love how she turned out. I could see this being used as an over sized nightstand in a Paris themed bedroom, as an entry table or even for a small flat screen tv.
